Text forwarding forwards text messages (green bubbles) to your Mac, iPad, or other devices. It does this by copying them from your phone to another decice’s Messages app. If you mean text forwarding (green bubbles) look at Sakthi’s post. Oct 24, 2014 If not, you're likely to run into an issue where the activation code never appears on your iPad or Mac. If you attempt to enable text message forwarding but the activation code never shows up.

Hi everyone, looking for some clarity around my strange forwarding setup.
Long story short, I have 2 personal iPhones, as I'm testing a new carrier to see if I want to switch, without dealing with the hassle of porting my number and trying it the hard way. I currently have text message forwarding (and call forwarding) setup from my old iPhone (6, 9.1) to my new iPhone (6s, 9.1), so it's seamless for anyone who contacts me.
My question(s) are:
1. When I receive an SMS on my real number (old iPhone) it shows up properly on my new iPhone. When I respond, it appears to send from my old number, which is what I want. However, is there any way to indicate on the new iPhone that it's actually sending from my old number?
2. It appears that the SMS / MMS being sent on my new iPhone from my old number is the green bubbles, but doesn't truly use circuit data to send (carrier network, non-IP). Is this true? It would make sense that iOS translates this 'SMS' over the IP network (wifi, 3/4G, LTE, etc) to Apple, and from there it's sent to my old phone, and then the old phone sends the actual SMS / MMS. Is this true? I am guessing here, as none of my green-bubble texts would send from my new phone, using my old number, when my old phone was powered off.
Text Message Forwarding Not Working On Mac
3. All is working well, but let's say I leave my old phone at home and just have my new phone at work. I want to SMS text someone from my new number, not old. How do I switch it to do that? The only workaround I can think of without having my old phone physically handy to turn the feature off, is to turn off iMessage completely on the new phone, then initiate the new SMS conversation.
Text Message Forwarding Not On Phone
Apple's iMessage can extend your text messaging from your iPhone to your iPad, but it can also work as a standalone text messaging app for those who don't own an iPhone. IMessage is a free feature that routes text messages through Apple's servers and does away with the 144 character limit of SMS messages. Text Messaging Forwarding code not showing up on macbook pro. Go to the Mac and sign out of iMessage going to messages > option top left corner > Apple ID sign out.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
